Transmission Developers (or “TDI”) develops unique clean energy transmission projects in an environmentally responsible manner. Our projects use proven high-voltage direct current (“HVDC”) cable technology to link renewable generation resources with markets that are seeking new sources of clean power.

Existing Projects:
CHPE: In response to New York State’s ambitious transition from fossil fuel to clean energy, TDI designed and developed the Champlain Hudson Power Express project (“CHPE”). CHPE is an approximately 339-mile underground and under water transmission line that will deliver 1,250 MW (enough to power over one million homes) of renewable hydropower from the U.S.-Canadian border directly to New York City. CHPE is currently under construction and will be operational in May 2026.
NECPL: The TDI Team has also developed the New England Clean Power Link (NECPL). NECPL is a proposed 1,000 MW High Voltage direct current (HVDC) underwater and underground transmission cable that will greatly increase clean, renewable, low-cost energy for Vermont and the New England marketplace.
Position Summary:
TDI is currently looking to fill a key development role, to assist with the continued development of NECPL as well as seek additional transmission development opportunities in New England. Reporting to the SVP of Project Development, this team member will be responsible for identifying new development opportunities in New England related to transmission and commercialization of NECPL. In this role, the developer will work with a development team that has significant experience in New England but is also focused on CHPE. TDI is seeking an individual who has detailed knowledge, relevant professional and governmental relationships and technical experience with the New England / Northeast transmission system and transmission development and design.
Required and Preferred Experience/Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, Construction management, Business or in a related field
· 5+ years or more of experience in transmission-related development.
· Specific knowledge of the New England / Northeast transmission market.
Essential Duties and Tasks:
· Lead New England developer focused on identifying new transmission opportunities for TDI.
· Assist with NECPL commercialization efforts.
· Once opportunities are identified, responsible for pursuing these opportunities in collaboration with the TDI Team via RFP responses, Joint Ventures, Partnerships, Purchases or other innovative commercialization strategies.
· Preparing presentations, market summaries, reports, etc. in support of these opportunities.
· Articulating the value proposition of these opportunities to TDI and Blackstone.
· Marketing these opportunities to external parties, such as, utilities, regulatory and governmental agencies and private companies.
· Managing a budget and contractors needed to support development activities.
· Assisting with development activities, such as permitting, land acquisition and outreach.
Required & Preferred Professional Experience:
· Extensive experience in transmission development with a focus on New England.
· Technical understanding of how the ISO-NE Grid operates and is regulated by ISO-NE and FERC.
· Must be a motivated, high achieving, detail-oriented self-starter.
· Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships and communicate effectively with the general public, stakeholders, contractors, and other employees.
Work Location: Flexible, New England is preferred
